After the initial project in 2003 to deliver a brand new innovative workspace in a pre-built shed – the next task came later in the form of a refresh of the other big shed EGG have in Derby – it was needed to satisfy staff in the ‘old’ shed that they too could have something a bit special – so we redesigned the reception areas , provided new cafes and meeting areas , refitted the toilets and updated most of the breakout areas which include a library , games room and relaxation area – I particularly like the privacy graphic on the meeting rooms that changes from circles to holes imperceptibly and the main feature stair with red perspex walls – There was an LED light wall specified that reacted to sound in the reception but this was soon switched off after complaints that fits would result !! -worked on this with Steve Brown and Li Qichang did some great 3D work.
The same base consultant team as all previous EGG projects were involved-
Notably the amiable Pete Andrews and Donna Harrison – all ex EGG now.
Project Manager was Simon Whelan of SWPM and cost control by Brendan Patchell of Bucknalls – now RLB who taught me a lot about 4 Dimensional cost planning !!!
Some nice graphics and pics……all built …all there now.
